A Review of Panasonic DMP-BD10 Blu Ray Player

Now like others, I hesitated when it came to getting a Blu Ray Player. A lot of my friends simply suggested that I get a Playstation 3, which would not only allow me to play games, but to also watch my Blu Ray movies. However, getting a Playstation 3 seemed ridiculous. I knew I wouldn't use it to play games.

So I finally decided to look through some of the available Blu Ray players, hoping that I might find something that would catch my eye. And that is when I stumbled upon Panasonic's DMP-BD10 Blu Ray Player.

At first glance, you might not notice anything particularly special about this first generation Blu Ray Player. It has a very traditional design, with none of the added visual frills that you might find in some other types of players
. It was simply a Blue Ray Player. And that simplicity was exactly what I was looking for.

The picture quality that it gives is astounding, both on Blu Ray movies and on DVD movies. It f
eatures an up conversion for DVDs, allowing you to upconvert them to 480p, 720p, 1080i, and 1080p. Add to that its HDMI output and I was quickly in love.

While the DMP-BD10 is a relatively good player, there are some cons to it. One of the bad things about this Blue Ray player is the horribly designed remote. The load times were also a bit slow. Still, I don't want to be too hard on the DMP-BD10. It is still an excellent player in many aspects.
