 As with DVD disks, Blue Ray disks come in specific formats for different uses. Overall Blue Ray disks allow for storage of computer data, as well as the burning of video and movies in brilliant high definition video quality.
BD-ROM
Read-only format for distribution of high definition movies, games, software, etc.
BD-R
These Blue Ray disks allow for one time recording of high definition video recording and computer data storage, it does not allow rewriting of data, so it's a one time use disk.
BD-RE
These are rewritable format disks for high definition video recording as well as for computer data storage, they can be recorded to more than once by over writing data.
