Sony Blu-Ray Player Model BDP-S350 Review and Guide

Sony's range of Blu Ray disc players is really quite unique. Not only do they have the broadest product range, but their range also fits perfectly with their Sony BRAVIA range of HD TV's. There is no other manufacturer that offers the ability to provide such compatibility between a huge product range, pricing and quality. Yet again Sony have set the bar high and undoubtedly many of the other manufacturers are running to catch up.

The BDP-S350 Blu-ray player is Sony's latest release in it's Blu-ray player lineup. The third generation BDP-S350 has quite a lot more to offer than its predecessor the BDP-S300 in the field of problem solving and the latest in Blu-ray technology.

The first thing you will notice about the
Sony BDP-S350 Blue Ray player is its size, it is half the size of the 300 and is considered the smallest Blu-ray player to date given that size of the unit doesn't have anything to do with how it preforms it really shows how far HD chipsets have come in the two years that Blu-ray players have been on the market.

The second thing that you will notice is how much the eject speed of disks has improved compared to the 300 the 350 can eject a disk in six seconds unlike the 300's everlasting 45. Breaking into 6 seconds makes the 350 one of the fastest ejecting players on the market.

As far as performance goes whenever you turn on the player you will notice it has Sony's xmb graphical user interface which is both efficient and effect when working with the player, and a new feature is the ability to access the xmb bar without stopping the movie.

The 350 starts out with a 1.1 profile which allows you to access bonusview on some disks, but with recent firmware updates the profile has been upgraded to a 2.0 which is great for people who enjoy extra features.

Some of the other good things about the 350 is its remote control which is much better in quality than last years model, the network connection for BD live makes firmware updates simple and quick, the power cord isn't attached which is a plus for those people who enjoy customizing their units and the 350 internally decodes TrueHD and DD+ which is a definite plus for your money.

Overall the Sony BDP-S350 Blu-ray player incorporates the latest technology with the aesthetics that make it a Sony and is a definite buy for anyone in the market for a standalone Blu-ray player.  Shop:
